Soon after the Big Baldy sign, look to the left and you will turn left onto the Big Meadows Horse Corral Road. This road is marked with a sign. Turn left onto this road.

Follow the Big Meadows Horse Corral Road for 10 miles until you reach the end of the paved road. Important: there are numerous turnouts on this road; always stay on the paved road. Along the paved road, you will pass several campgrounds, drive over a couple of bridges and PAST the turn off to Horse Corral Pack Station.

At the end of the paved road, you will see signs marked Marvin Pass Trailhead and a Sequoia High Sierra Camp. These signs are brown and yellow. Turn right at these signs. This is an important road mark, so please take care not to miss it!

For the next 2.5 miles, the road is unpaved, dusty and narrow (single lane in numerous spots.). Please watch for other vehicles. Low clearance vehicles need to be careful on this section of the road.  Always stay on the main roadway.

At the end of this dirt road, is the Marvin Pass Trailhead parking lot. Please park your vehicle here and remove any belongings you will transport to camp.

At this parking lot, you will see two large informational boards. To the left of these informational boards, you will see a post with a small metal box (angled).  The camp trail begins at this box. There is also a small sign with SHSC (Sequoia High Sierra Camp).  Follow the trail.

The first section of the trail is fairly steep; with an elevation gain of 300 feet over the first 1/4th mile. Please note that only the first section of the trail is strenuous; the path levels out and becomes much easier.

The trail is well marked with Sequoia High Sierra Camp (SHSC) signage. Follow all signs leading you directly into the camp (total hiking distance is 1 mile). You will arrive at the reception area and be greeted by Camp personnel.
